  • Weekly seminar

The SFB offers a weekly seminar series, a combination of group seminars and other seminars at the chemistry department. National and international  speakers report about actual scientific developments.

 

  • Annual project discussion

Every year in spring time the SFB 749 organizes a two days conference.

The graduate students present  their research results of the last year during a poster session and are able to discuss the progress of their project with the SFB 749 project leaders. Selected results are presented in an oral contribution.

Typically, 3-5 experts from other universities are invited to participate and enrich the disussions.

  • International symposium

Every other year there is an international conference "Scientific Octoberfest" to which leading scientists are invited. Students can present their research results in a poster session.

Foreign students receive here information regarding visa issues and work permission, housing and living in Munich.

 

  • German language course

For our foreign graduate students the SFB 749 will offer a  language course: German as a foreign language.

SFB 749 project leaders encourage our graduate students to enroll into soft skill courses during their PhD phase.
